It is a horror to see the possession of a soul thru addiction. Who knows what horrors led him to commit suicide by neglect? What once was youth, potential, and hope, now reduced to.....

Words fail but we continue to support those with resources of hope, and do all we can to warn of the dangers of addiction.

Agree. The absolute powerlessness in such moments is profoundly paralyzing. There’s no “helping” in the most accessible sense that we usually can provide when we want to help someone. The unpredictability of someone so high is always real. The out of thier senses space leaves even gentle reasoning difficult. Then there’s the whole frustration with the problem that continues to eclipse the ability for many to have compassion on the person. I overheard one customer joke that the “drive thru” was now a “drive over”. Community exhaustion is real and compassion fatigue can turn to animosity and soon a persons humanity is nolonger visible through the ugliness of it all.
