This is a Day of Good News!
Four Lepers and the hope of revival
We are living in a hungry moment in this hour. Numerous events both tragic and hopeful are producing rising waves of generational interest in the City of God as the city of man is being exposed for what it truly is:
“And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!” -Revelation 18:2
Martin Gurri echoed this truth when he wrote in: The Revolt of the Public and the Crisis of Authority:
“For the governing classes and articulate elites of the world, this turn to religion is both appalling and incomprehensible — but this is a denial of human nature. If the City of Man becomes a passing shadow, people will turn to the City of God.” -Chapter 7, “The Failure of Government”
This is a Divine moment for the people of God. The Church must venture out of its four walls and discover that the Lord has brought about a great victory and it’s waiting to be discovered. There are treasures ready to be found!
The hunger for genuine moves of the Spirit that result in people being conquered by Christ is unfolding across our land in various places. Satan has been routed in a surprising chain of events and opportunities are presenting themselves to those willing to venture out and dare to walk into what used to be the enemy’s camp (2 Kings 7:11).
Too many people think they are not spiritual enough to participate in the “Wars of the Lord” but it’s a lie. Your life and all its skirmishes matter. The stories of God’s work for you and in you and through you are being recorded in the book of the Wars of the Lord (Numbers 21:10-15 & Revelation 22:12). Rise up and plunder!
Don’t let your conditions cancel your commission.
“The men who had leprosy reached the edge of the camp, entered one of the tents and ate and drank. Then they took silver, gold and clothes, and went off and hid them. They returned and entered another tent and took some things from it and hid them also. Then they said to each other, “What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.”” 2 Kings 7:8-9
Let us also be sharers of the Good News of Jesus. We too have treasures plundered, our bellies have feasted on the bounty given us by Christ! The enemy’s camp has been emptied by our Lord’s triumph and now the cities of the world await the glorious gospel!
Can we keep it to ourselves? While others starve should we serve ourselves yet another helping?
In the last two weeks I’ve heard two different individuals share how they had never read the Bible! Our churches are full of well nourished Christians that have been equipped adequately enough to share the simple truth and love of God with those all around us.
Let us not be like the people of God in Jesus’s day to whom he said: “…you did not recognize the time of your visitation.” Luke 19:44
Our time is short. This is true from two angles:
First: who knows who many days are left in each of our lives (Psalms 90:12)?
Second: the Lord Jesus is returning and we don’t know the day…or hour (Matthew 24:42-44).
Now is the time!
Jesus has tied up the “strong man” are we ready to go and plunder his house?
“But no one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his possessions unless he first ties up the strong man. Then he can plunder his house.” -Mark 3:27
Like the four Lepers of 2 Kings 7 we have a choice before us in this moment: Will we stay put in our safe, comfortable and familiar routines or venture out in daring faith?
