Prophets from the Deep
A testimony of God’s work washing ashore
“I cried out to the Lord in my great trouble, and he answered me. I called to you from the land of the dead, and Lord, you heard me! “
“I sank beneath the waves, and the waters closed over me. Seaweed wrapped itself around my head. I sank down to the very roots of the mountains. I was imprisoned in the earth, whose gates lock shut forever.
But you, O Lord my God, snatched me from the jaws of death! As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple.
I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.” Then the Lord ordered the fish to spit Jonah out onto the beach.” -Jonah 2:2, 5-7, 9-10
I hear weeping during preaching, it’s the sacred and solemn oracle of Jonah being heard among us.
A deep work is happening…in the soul, heart and mind. Memory being awakened, life being revitalized and sin is being washed clean.
The wounded are being stitched up and the pulsing flow is slowing with each painful but necessary suture by Spirit and Word.
In this moment we are witnessing the ministering powers of God causing hope to take fire. Flames being kindled in darkness. The dead that were buried in suffering and sorrow are emerging as Lazarus reunited with life, love and liberty.
Children are receiving back their mothers and fathers, parents their prodigals and Pauls are welcoming home their Marks. Timothy is laying hands on the heads of elders and Elizabeth feels the leaping in her womb.
The slain are being thrown on old Elisha’s bones and coming alive, such is the power of the word of the Lord among us. Prayers are being prayed in the bellies of the beasts and the depths are vomiting up the prophets again. Songs of the once damned are echoing out over the oceans, calling forth Leviathan’s captives.
Nineveh is feeling the tremors of revival and its heralds are gasping for breath fresh out of the sea.
Are you ready?

Mmmm, soooo good!
