Prayer of the Spear
“ Bring forth the spear and bar the way”
Psalm 35:1-2
“Contend, O Lord, with those who contend with me and fight against those who fight against me. Take up the shield and buckler, and stand up to help me. Bring forth the spear and bar the way against those who pursue me; say to my soul,” “I am your salvation.””
Our battles have deep roots and broad origins. People are projecting their issues and we are often the recipient of someone else’s sin, brokenness or violation.
We live in the fury of the fray.
It is bigger than you.
My prayer today is:
“Bring forth the spear and bar the way.”
Against lies be they within or without.
Against anything that isn’t helpful or a constant threat at the doors of your life.
Against evil.
Against worry and anxieties.
Against darkness of mind or heart.
Against ego and pride.
Against the past, the present or the future in any way they attack you.
Against unhealthy and unhelpful people.
Against anything that isn’t shaping and forming you into a more loved, free and fearless soul.
Bar the way against anything that isn’t helpful in making you whole.
